die quadratur der worte ist ein von s.holzbauer entwickeltes HTML basiertes verfahren zur transformierung von worten und texten in rechteckige farbflächen. the squaring of the words (quadratur der worte) is a HTML based technique developed by s.holzbauer to transform words and texts into colored rectangles. die buchstaben eines wortes ersetzen die ziffern des sechsstelligen HTML farbcodes, der die farben der felder einer quadratischen 3x3 HTML tabellen-matrix definiert. the characters of a given word substitute the figures of the six-digit HTML color-code defining the colors of the cells of a 3x3 HTML table. ein wort wird so als farbmuster bzw. hell-dunkel struktur dargestellt und in eine visuelle textur umgewandelt. by this a words gets visualized as a pattern of colors or a grayscale structure and is transformed into a visual texture. erstmals wurde die quadratur der worte am "9.Gmundner Symposion für visuelle poesie" am 11.Okt.1997 in Gmunden/Österreich präsentiert. "the squaring of the words" was presented at "9th Gmundner Symposion on Visual Poetry" Oct.11th,1997 in Gmunden/Austria/Europe for the first time.
